“an ideal park site in jeopardy”

Muir Creek

The Muir Creek area has long been a recreational

and educational resource for local

residents and visitors. In November of

2005, a small group of area residents realized

that old growth sections of the forest

were being considered for logging when

survey ribbons were seen throughout the

forest indicating that planning was underway.

As a result of this plan for logging,

local residents formed the Muir Creek Protection

Society (MCPS) to preserve and

protect the Muir Creek watershed.
