What Now?

“an ideal park site…in jeopardy.”

Muir Creek in Winter

The Muir Creek area is unique in its

natural richness and scenic beauty. In the

past, Muir Creek was a sanctuary and a

place of abundance for local first nations;

it is still a sanctuary and a place of abundance

today. The importance of this area

for habitat, as a recreational area, and as

a place of historical significance cannot be

overlooked. Muir Creek no longer seems

distant or inaccessible to the main population

areas of Vancouver Island. Yet, the

Muir Creek area still retains many of its

wilderness features. By acting now, we

can protect these features and create a

public facility of great value to area residents

and visitors.
